Theres

Steve Sem-Sandberg – Theres

Ulrike Meinhof was West German journalist who later abandoned her family to become part of the German left-wing terrorist undergroud. Her role in Red Army Fraction was seen so important that the group was called Bader-Meinhoff-group (another prominent member was Andreas Baader who was famous for dislikes political discussions and attributed to just wanting to kill policemen).

This story is fiction, based on the author's observations of what he sees as Meinhof's deteriorating sense of reality, eclipsed by political ideology. The point of view alternaes between contemporary media depiction (often sensationalistic), dry police and court documents and evaluations and the ficticious depiction of Meinhoff's own view. Latter is very much based on the proclamations of the group itself, leading to their mass suicide (which their supporters keep claiming was actually assassination by the West German government).

Afterwards there has been some theories that a childhood brain tumor operation might have caused her to become more aggressive. In my opinion, it may be too deterministic to think that would have been the main reason.
